For Jordan, Lake Anna has always held a special place in her heart, full of childhood memories and summer gatherings. In fact, she always said she wanted to get married at Seay Point—a dream her dad fondly highlighted during his welcome speech to kick off the reception. Returning to that exact shoreline to marry her best friend, Ian, brought those lifelong memories full circle in the most meaningful way. Their entire wedding day unfolded right along the water, blending personal touches with a deeply intentional celebration.
The afternoon began with Jordan getting dressed with Chelsey’s help. Moving away from heavy lace, tulle, or traditional embellishments, Jordan chose a breathtaking, non-traditional ballgown in a rich ivory tone. Crafted from a woven floral jacquard fabric with a subtle raised pattern, the dress featured a fitted scoop-neck bodice, a dropped Basque waistline, and a dramatic, full skirt. It was timeless, structural, and suited her personality flawlessly—effortless, modern, and completely unique.
I didn’t realize until seeing a post online after the wedding that the talented team at Tickled Pink was behind her stunning hair and makeup! Having worked with them on a past styled shoot, I was thrilled to see we collaborated again—they did an amazing job bringing Jordan’s bridal look to life.
Once dressed, we headed out to the lake shore for portraits with her bridesmaids before she shared a sweet first look with her dad.
Their ceremony took place right by the water, centered around their shared faith and commitment to one another. As guests arrived, they were greeted by a gorgeous gold and glass arched shelving unit displaying welcome beverages alongside framed portraits from their Maymont engagement session. A mirrored sign with the message beneath their names and date invited everyone to “Sip and Be Seated.” Guests were also invited to sign a Bible placed on a table at the ceremony—a beautiful keepsake they will cherish forever.
Following the ceremony, guests gathered lakeside for cocktail hour while taking in the views before Jordan & Ian’s Introduction to their evening reception. Jordan’s dad kicked off the evening with his welcome speech, officially welcoming everyone to the venue Jordan had dreamed about for years. During dinner, we went down to the water for couples portraits. The ambient light reflecting off the white tent created that signature, beautiful, dramatic glow highlighting just how effortlessly photogenic Jordan and Ian are together.
After portraits, we rejoined the party for dinner, followed by toasts, the cake cutting, and dances on the floor.
