A Stokesdale, NC Wedding

Rhiannah & Jamie married last weekend in their church in Stokesdale, NC! Can I just say these two are an incredibly sweet couple! I greeted Rhiannah Sunday morning when I arrived at the church. She told me she had already cried tears that morning and I had a little moment of panic. I asked her what was wrong and she told me they were happy tears! Whew, I was worried.

Rhiannah wanted a first look with her dad and I have to say it was one of the most emotional first looks I’ve seen. Her dad, Mike, was in tears before he turned around. Rhiannah called his name and he didn’t turn around when she called his name. He needed a minute before he did. After turning around he was overwhelmed with seeing his little girl ready for her wedding.

I knew one of the important things for this couple was remembering both their mothers. Both are no longer with us and Rhiannah and Jamie honored them by lighting a unity candle where the individual candles represented their mothers. After lighting the unity candle, they placed roses on the front pew where they had placed pictures of their mothers. They also made sure to include Rhiannah’s son, Colt, by having him as their ring bearer. He was so cute when he presented the rings to them to exchange.

We ended their wedding with their couple portraits. When we did their engagement session, I kept asking Jamie to kiss her and he told me he had never kissed Rhiannah so much. I gave him a hard time about it for the rest of their session. When I asked him to kiss her during their couple portraits, he told me he liked kissing her! I started laughing! He was happy to oblige me and he even gave me a hard time. He told me it was his turn to boss me around because I had been bossing him around all day! I just love this couple and am thrilled they chose me to document their wedding day!
