The Courthouse Connection

January 24, 2026

A Match Built on Balance

They say opposites attract, but for Sarah and Nicholas, it’s more like they perfectly calibrate one another. Sarah, a nurturing extrovert, stands at a striking 5’10”. Nicholas, who describes himself as ambitious and independent, clocks in at 5’2”.

While their heights might be different, their vision for a life together is perfectly aligned. They chose the classic, timeless atmosphere of the Charlottesville Circuit Court to make it official, surrounded by a few close family members. For them, being engaged wasn’t about the “fiancé” label or a flashy party—it was the quiet, steady start of a future together.

The Things That Matter

If you want to know what makes this couple tick, you don’t have to look much further than a quiet morning outdoors. Give them a view, a couple of dogs (shoutout to Riley and Lorna!), and a perfect espresso, and they are in their element.

The Fabric of Their Relationship

To know Sarah and Nicholas is to appreciate the beautiful contrast they bring to the table. Their story is built on the simple joys and the distinct quirks that make them a team.

  • A Shared Home: Their world revolves around their two pups, Riley and Lorna, who are just as much a part of the family as anyone.
  • The Perfect Afternoon: For Sarah, happiness is a hiking trail or a new crochet project. For Nicholas, it’s the roar of a motorcycle or any sport—provided there isn’t a ball involved.
  • A Foundation of Respect: When asked what they value most in one another, the answers were simple yet profound. Sarah is moved by Nicholas’s kindness, while Nicholas is inspired by Sarah’s intelligence.
  • Where it All Began: They’ve come a long way from that first day spent simply walking and chatting, but that love for quiet connection remains their North Star.

A Charlottesville Circuit Court Ceremony

Their ceremony was a beautiful nod to where it all began. Years ago, their first date was spent simply walking and chatting—a tradition of easy communication they carried right to the courthouse.

By keeping their elopement intimate and local to Charlottesville, they were able to focus on what truly mattered: the family by their side and the person holding their hand. After the “I dos,” and a quick photo session to document their elopement, it was time for the best part of any celebration—heading off to enjoy a meal with their family.

Congratulations, Sarah and Nicholas! May your future be filled with many more hikes, great espresso, and zero sports with balls.
