Courtney & Camden’s Engagement Session in Cape Charles, Virginia is stunning considering the weather leading up to it. I chatted with them about what they envisioned for their session and they initially told me they wanted the mountains. But as the conversation continued, the beach is what they continued referencing. So I asked if Cape Charles, Virginia would work. They liked the idea! I have family there so it was a win for me – visit family and meet up with Courtney & Camden for a beach engagement session!
The weather didn’t look great and I asked if they wanted to reschedule. They really wanted the beach so we agreed to go for it and pray it wasn’t raining. It was thundering and lightening right up to their session. Michael was incredibly worried and wanted me to cancel but I hoped we could make it work.
Fortunately there was a gazebo near the beach and I decided we would start there. We started the session under the gazebo as it was still raining and I really thought this wouldn’t work. That meant, we would reschedule another session at a later date. But that isn’t what happened. The rain stopped and the sky became partly cloudy so we moved from the gazebo and I got a few beach shots. It was time to move on!
Courtney also wanted the small town feel so we headed from the beach to the shops in Cape Charles. I was photographing them and Michael stopped me and said look at the sky! It was the start of a gorgeous sunset so I sent them to change into their second outfit and we headed back to the beach!
We had the most gorgeous sunset! Their portraits on the beach are stunning and some of my absolute favorites!
I had one more spot I wanted for their session, the fountain in the park! We jumped in our cars and headed there. I quickly set up some lights at the park and grabbed a couple more shots. I still can’t believe we pulled this off!
Enjoy Courtney & Camden’s Engagement Session in Cape Charles, Virginia!
