Three years ago we brought home this special girl! I named her Kasey and she and Hank are my joy every day! I like celebrating birthdays and Hank is the only dog I’ve ever had that I know an actual birthday for. Since I don’t know Kasey’s, I celebrate her Gotcha Day as if it were her birthday! July 25th is Happy Gotcha Day for Kasey so that means Happy Birthday Kasey!

We adopted her a week after we adopted Hank and she is the best big sister to him. She has taught him so many things! Kasey taught him to be ball-obsessed as she loves nothing more than Chuck-it balls, tennis balls, Kong balls, and Planet dog balls. She’s an aggressive chewer so we need the ones labeled indestructible! She has been known to chew them up and swallow them and after a trip to the vet to make her vomit, the vet told me she hadn’t learned her lesson and she was right! Let’s just say I have to be super careful with her!

Kasey also taught Hank to play! When he was a puppy, Kasey played with him endlessly and was always so tolerant of his roughness. She doesn’t care too much about other dogs but she loves Hankie! She does love to torment him though by stealing his favorite ball and she doesn’t give it back until she is ready. It confounds Hank to no end and he sits and looks at her or barks at her until we either intervene or she gives it up! They truly act like siblings!

I’m a huge dog lover and am so thankful we were able to adopt Hank and Kasey from Green Dogs Unleashed! I’m a firm believer in adopt don’t shop and hope that if you would like a dog you will consider doing the same!
