A Wedding at The Osprey’s at Belmont Park, Woodbridge Virginia

Obviously, I love weddings but there was something so special about Rachel and Brandon’s wedding that just leaves me warm and fuzzy! I can’t put my finger on it exactly except that when I watched these two together, it made me happy! In their get to know you questionnaire, I asked for two adjectives to describe themselves. Rachel said she was silly and unfiltered and Brandon said he was bubbly and spontaneous! So all that together makes a couple that you just really want to spend time with!

The weather leading up to Saturday promised a storm! No one wants to hear bomb cyclone on your special day, dumping rain and snow but that was the forecast. So the ceremony was forced inside. The Osprey’s at Belmont Bay is gorgeous inside and out so I couldn’t imagine a prettier setting! You will love all the windows letting in all that gorgeous light!

Rachel and Brandon’s first look was oh so sweet with a truly special gift from the bride to her groom. They lost their beloved GG in September so Rachel had a handkerchief made with GG’s nose print and a special message to Brandon. So I think it is pretty obvious they love dogs and this gift was truly thoughtful and sweet! Brandon teared up when he saw his bride and received this special gift!

You could tell that Rachel and her mom put so much thought into all the details from the handkerchief I mentioned to the florals Rachel’s mom, Peggy made! You’ll also notice a picture of a quilt that was hanging at the entrance to the venue. Peggy made that too for Rachel and Brandon!

Rachel and Brandon decided to have her parent’s dog, Ginger be the ringbearer. But when it came time for Ginger to walk down the aisle, she got nervous and wanted no part of that! No amount of coaxing could get her down the aisle so she decided to sit quietly in the back. And she was truly adorable in her wedding attire that Peggy also made for her! Peggy, you are very talented!

The formal events ended with a first pour instead of a cake cutting! Rachel and Brandon decided to have a dessert bar with ice cream so they poured liquid nitrogen to make an incredibly delicious dessert! And yes I had some of the butter, toffee, pecan ice cream which was some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had!

Congratulations Rachel + Brandon! I hope you have many many years to be silly and spontaneous with each other!
