I look forward to this every year and I’m so excited to be able to share photos from James’ 8th Birthday! I can’t believe it has been another year! Every October Lisa schedules a session for him at the end of October.

I love seeing how much he has changed and photographing his energetic spirit! This year when I arrived, James ran to my car to tell me he had decided on his last picture! He wanted to jump off the guard rail and do a flip! Umm well okay! My mind was racing wondering if this was something new he had started doing! Lisa didn’t seem worried so I thought this must be a new trick.

I don’t really try to pose James too much as I know he likes to move around so I try to guide him towards spots I like. I give suggestions on what to do, take my photos and then I let him do what he wants for a few. It usually is making crazy faces at me so I take them and laugh at his antics. This year he decided to run around as well as make faces at me. I shoot away and usually I don’t deliver any of those but this year some of them were adorable so I kept them in! I’m including a few here!

At the end of their session, James was still talking about jumping off the guard rail into a flip. It is at this point Lisa starts mentioning he doesn’t really know how to do that and asking him how is going to do it. He doesn’t really have an answer but he wants to try. Lisa convinces him, maybe it isn’t a good idea. We settle on jumping off a platform and running down the hill where he does do a somersault!
