Fallon & William married last weekend at the iconic Hotel Roanoke! This wedding venue is absolutely stunning! The morning started off with rain but by the afternoon it was clearing off and promising a beautiful evening!
Initially Fallon told me that they did not want a first look. And while I do recommend them, I never force my clients into having one. So, I made her timeline and forwarded my initial draft on to her. I then decided to attend her meeting with their planner Chelsea at the hotel. It would give me a chance to see the venue so I could start planning for their day.
At the start of the meeting, Fallon told me I was going to kill her. I promptly told her I would not and asked what what she was thinking. Turns out she and William had discussed things and they now decided they wanted to do a first look. Oh, I was doing a happy dance in my head and promptly informed her I was thrilled and would happily adjust the timeline! The amazing thing was Chelsea started explaining all he reasons why they are so beneficial! Go Chelsea!
I think their first look was the sweetest I’ve seen and William could not have been more complimentary! I normally ask the bride when I’m setting them up if she wants to call his name or tap him on the shoulder when she wants him to turn around. To my surprise and delight she said she didn’t want either but she did want to pinch him on the but when she was ready. I was giggling when she said this and then she told me it was in line with her personality.
She pinched him several times before he turned around. We captured numerous photos of this and William played this up which made for great images. When he turned around, they both teared up and much to our delight, William fully took in his stunning bride. He held her hands, kissed her and hugged her. Then he had her show off all the details she had chosen from her earrings, to her hair and the delicate lace pattern on her dress. Then he hugged her and kissed her many times before we started their portraits. Ahh, it was incredibly dreamy to watch and I am so glad they chose to do this!
Fallon and William chose to have a very traditional ceremony with her Mom and step-Dad walking her down the aisle. Fallon told me she wanted the ceremony to have a chapel feel to it and I really love it when the minister or pastor actually gives a small sermon about marriage during the ceremony!
Not only did Fallon and William add a first look for themselves but they also wanted a first look for their reception. It is a great idea and I love seeing their reaction to all the details they have been envisioning for months! Fallon’s face lit up when she saw each and every detail for the first time! It was truly fun to document for them!
Fallon and William ended the night with a fun sparkler exit that included a fog machine! Their wedding day was filled with lots of love and special memories that I was honored to document for them!!
