I am so happy to share Kaila & Adam’s Fall Wedding at Mount Fair Vineyard in Crozet, Virginia! I started their wedding weekend by attending their rehearsal and dinner the night before the wedding. It rained earlier in the day but it cleared off just in time for their rehearsal and delivered a beautiful sunset. It was a joyous evening filled with lots of laughter and jokes from the FOB, Keith. I’ve known Keith for many years and he has shared many stories about Kaila and her younger brother Chris during that time.
Their wedding day was a gorgeous fall day with perfect weather! The fall foliage had begun its spectacular show and the mountain views at Mount Fair Farm provide an incredible backdrop to take it all in.
Kaila wanted to share a First Look with her dad. I knew there would be lots of jokes from Keith leading up to his first look. But once he saw her, he teared up and told her how beautiful she was. She in turn teared up as well. After a few moments, Keith was back to his usual jocular self.
Kaila and Adam wanted a first look for themselves as well. Once we had Adam set up at the greenhouse, I escorted Kaila from the Paddock House to see her Groom. When Adam turned around he gave her the best expression I’ve ever captured during a first look! His expression had “WOW” written all over it! Be sure to check out that image below!
Kaila and Adam chose to have their dog, Duncan as part of their wedding party and he did a fabulous job as the wedding mascot! Not only did Will, Kaila’s Man of Honor walk Duncan down the aisle. He also graciously drove him from Boston to Virginia for the wedding!
Kaila and Adam also followed the southern tradition of burying the bourbon a month before their wedding. This tradition is supposed to ward off bad weather on the wedding day. There are rules to this tradition! First, it is supposed to be buried upside down. Second is to bury it as close to the ceremony site as you can. And finally, it has to be bourbon not whiskey! After the ceremony Adam dug it up, opened it and he and Kaila had a taste!
During their reception, they had many toasts which were filled with lots of sentimental stories and laughter. Adam’s mom told of driving him to school and him asking her to wait with him while the sun came. His groomsmen told stories about their adventures during the bachelor weekend. Kaila’s brother gave lots of advice to Adam about how to respond to Kaila without getting himself in trouble. And Keith gave Adam the advice he has for a successful marriage… always respond to your wife with “Yes Dear” and “I don’t know what I was thinking!” Of course he went to all the tables before the toasts and asked them to say those two with him. It was hilarious!
